Paul ‘Silky’ White and Peter Brush

17th December 2016 - 7:30 pm

PAUL ‘SILKY’ WHITE

Silky is a comedian and musician from Liverpool. Since 1994 he has avoided adulthood, wealth and financial security by doing something he loves instead.

‘massively engaging guitar-playing stand-up whose instinctive rapport with audiences makes him welcome wherever he goes.’ Guardian Guide (Pick of the Week).

‘a very, very funny fella … just brilliant’
 John Bishop.

‘Silky makes rooms rock. More addictive than crack’ Leeds Guide.

‘Skilful and entertaining … Silky’s audience banter is sans pareil’ Time Out.

&

PETER BRUSH (pictured)

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion.

Peter has been a finalist in a variety of local and national comedy competitions including the BBC New Comedy Award 2013, as well as winning the Harrogate Comedian of the Year 2012. He has also written for BBC Radio 4’s ‘The News Quiz’, ‘The Show What You Wrote’ and ‘Newsjack’, and has done tour support for Arthur Smith and Stephen K Amos.

In 2015 he performed his debut solo hour ‘Older Than The Oldest Dog That Ever Lived’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, receiving 4*+ reviews. That year he also performed as part of the prestigious ‘Big Value’ showcase run by Just The Tonic.

‘compellingly hilarious.. first-class gag writing… an original and achingly funny voice’ ****1/2 – Chortle, Aug 2015

‘unique observations and connections that stand-ups crave’ – The Guardian

‘Yorkshire’s answer to Woody Allen’ – Harrogate Advertiser **** Shortcom
