BRAWN is a moving, heartfelt and important production exploring our powerful desire for physical perfection, and the silent struggles of the men who experience body dysmorphic disorder.
What begins as a fitness drive soon becomes a dangerous and threatening obsession for our sole character Ryan, who will stop at nothing to achieve the perfect physique. Once the smart kid in school, Ryan now spends most of his time in the gym; he’s 80% of theway there, with 20% to go.
BRAWN is not one to be missed.
Written and performed by Manchester-based actor Christopher Wollaton, BRAWN has received 5 star reviews at Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festival, and also from it’s earlier 2019 dates at The King’s Head, London.
“Brawn is an intelligent and entirely relevant look at the pressures and expectations put on men to conform to unrealistic ideals of physical perfection. ” Culture Fix
