12th July 2016 - 7:15 pm - 10:15 pm

Join us for an evening of Harry Guntrip Psychtherapy Trust’s Café Cinematique, screening ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ directed by Spike Jonze.

Film screening begins 7.15pm prompt and will be followed by an opportunity to join in an open and lively discussion on the dynamics of childhood relationships.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (2009)

Yearning for escape and adventure, a young boy runs away from home and sails to an island filled with creatures that take him in as their king.

Feeling misunderstood at home and at school, mischievous Max (Max Records) escapes to the land of the Wild Things, majestic — and sometimes fierce — creatures. They allow Max to become their leader, and he promises to create a kingdom where everyone will be happy. However, Max soon finds that being king is not easy and that, even being with the Wild Things, there is something missing.

Dir: Spike Jonze, 2009, USA, 1hr 41min, PG. Written by Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers.

Stars: Max Records, Catherine O’Hara, Forest Whitaker
