JazzLeeds – Nadim Teimoori’s “Teduloca”

25th March 2018 - 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Nadim Teimoori: Saxophones. Sam Dunn: Guitar, Martin Longhorn: Organ, Tim Carter: Drums.

Tenor saxophonist, composer and graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Nadim Teimoori is making a national name for himself , appearing with Julian Joseph, Jamie Cullum, James Taylor, Iain Ballamy and many others. Formed around the classic lineup of Sax, Guitar, Organ and Drums, Teduloca are a contemporary jazz quartet, featuring some of Yorkshire’s most exciting and dynamic improvisers.

Teduloca’s music takes influence from the history of jazz, but keep it’s eyes very much on the future, with virtuosic unison lines, heavy swing, gritty grooves and beautiful contemporary harmonies.

Originally from Doncaster, Nadim Teimoori joined DYJA (Doncaster Youth Jazz Associaton), directed by John Ellis MBE, at the age of 13 and progressed rapidly in the field of Jazz receiving recognition from all over the country and winning numerous awards. He then went on from here to study a diploma in Jazz Studies at ‘Leeds College of Music’ further flaming his passion for music before eventually moving to the ‘Royal Academy Of Music’ in 2008. Nadim can be found playing in different musical settings with some of the top names on the British Jazz scene including frequent performances with the Stan Tracey Legacy band (most recently at Seven Arts in October 2017).

‘Nadim’s voice on the tenor is thoughtful, melodic, harmonically advanced, and creative. Beautiful!’ – Chris Potter

‘Sam Dunn is a wonderful musician on all levels. He has a wide, interesting repertoire, beautiful sound, and is equally compelling with ballads and burners.’ – Judy Carmichael
