16th May 2015 - 8:30 pm

Booked to play Glastonbury 2015

Presenting songs of melancholy, dark humour and gentle defiance, Sentimentalists stand for lyricism, lovely music, and character.  Featuring musicians from Acoustic Alchemy, The Only Ones, The Mission and Magna Carta, they sound nothing like any of those, or all of those at the same time. It makes sense when you see them.

Expect ‘A northern moralistic Ian Dury'; ‘Tindersticks meet Divine Comedy'; ‘Alan Bennett meets Sparklehorse'; ‘Like The Smiths and The Beautiful South, a perfectly mis-matched blend of edgy lyrics and upbeat melodies’ (Yorkshire Post)

“Truly marvellous” – Mark Radcliffe (BBC radio)

“Beautiful…in a miserable way” – Mark Coles (BBC radio)

“Special, funny, just georgeous” – Rozina Breen (BBC Radio Leeds)

“A buzz combo….a brooding, captivating presence” – R2

“The band that the world is waiting for” – Pete Greenway from The Fall

8pm doors. Support act 8.30pm.
