When you are a student of Indian classical music, what is the destination?
In a captivating evening concert, sitarist Akash Parekar charts the journey of a musician from traditional to contemporary interpretations of Indian classical music, with classical frameworks, raag-based compositions and semi-classical pieces that represent the artistic journey of an Indian classical musician. Join us as the traditional is renewed for the 21st century with some of the UK’s brightest young talents of Hindustani (North Indian classical) music.
Akash is a rising star of sitar music, having learned from Roopa Panesar and Ustad Dharambir Singh Dhadyalla of the Vilayatkhani gharana. Akash will be accompanied on tabla by the talented Harkiran Sahota of the Benares gharana.
