Erin Rae “makes smooth-edged music for Sunday afternoons” and “her arrangements — anchored by pedal-steel guitar and the steady strum of an acoustic guitar — may be rooted in modern-day indie, but the songs themselves rustle up comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne”.
She walks the line between old-school folk and modern Americana, creating a sound that nods to her influences while pushing ahead toward something new. It’s music that breathes, filled with pedal steel, vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar, bright bursts of melody and plenty of space.
Her full length album debut “Soon Enough” appeared in 2016 and was met with widespread critical acclaim in the Americana press. One of Nashville’s rising stars, Erin made a brief promo tour here earlier this year – feedback was such that she has now returned for her first headline tour.
“Nashville is so full of female singer/songwriters that it’s a rare day when one of them is able to come in and completely take your breath away. We first saw Erin Rae perform in July. She played 2 songs. We were hooked from the start. She and her band, the Meanwhiles, had just released their new EP “Crazy Talk” – somewhere between the folk that has emerged from Nashville and a classic Americana sound”.
