Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters are an Americana band based in hip and happening Asheville, North Carolina featuring the singing and songwriting of frontwoman Amanda Anne Platt. Their 5th and latest album will be released on June 9, 2017. They will appear at Seven Arts as a full 5 piece band.
They released their 4th album “On The Ropes” in May 2016 to much critical acclaim. It has 13 tracks, 12 of which are original material and spent 19 weeks on the Americana Radio Chart hitting No.10. Four albums in, the Honeycutters demonstrate a clear confidence that’s more than capable of elevating them to the next level
Platt “has a voice that’s complex, sweet and aching. Even more potently, she writes songs that folks are citing as up there with the best of the field such as Mary Gauthier and Lucinda Williams.”
Their previous album, 2015’s “Me Oh My” launched The Honeycutters onto the national stage, bringing along an army of fans with them. This is a band that both the Americana and country world should pay greater attention to.
“The Honeycutters are out to make Asheville, NC the brand new music city.”
“This is a band that relies on traditional country music instrumentation played and performed by artists who remain true to country music heritage.”
“On The Ropes, I suppose, is Americana. Occupying the space where Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell and Margo Price dwell, what used to be called country. There are such finely realized moments and details here”
