We are delighted to present for you “Sum of All”- a special commission by Jazzleeds for drummer and educator Caroline Boaden. It features new compositions written and played by her group of musicians where the ethos is about collaboration, moving forward and fresh ideas. Caroline Boaden is one of the most respected and experienced drummers whose career has taken in playing with artists such as Jason Rebello, Eberhard Weber, Peter King, Kenny Davern, Arts Farmer and Mike Walker. She teaches at Leeds Conservatoire and has most recently been working with American bassist John Goldsby and pianist Jamil Sherifon his hugely popular series of educational music videos.
Caroline is bringing a wonderful collaboration to Seven Arts featuring four highly individual musicians, Paul Kilvington (piano/keys), Jose Canha (double bass), John Bailey (guitar) and Sally Doherty on vocals mixing both original and familiar songs, and music that is strongly rhythmic, but also occasionally meditative. “Sum of all” says Caz “is about marking a new chapter in her musical career. It’s played by a group of musicians where everyone puts in an equal share. We all want to contribute our ideas.”
Caroline Boaden drums, Sally Doherty vocals, John Bailey guitar, Paul Kilvington keys. José Canha bass
